“This year we will be lighting up the city. Our theme for this year is ONE LIGHT, ONE HEART, ONE CITY. So we really want na maghatag ug kahayag sa kada usa (bring brightness to everyone),” says City Tourism Operations Office OIC Willenito Tormis Jr.
He says the theme of the Christmas lights display at City Hall will be “City of Lights” with a touch of Davao City and also showing Davao City’s growth, strength, resilience, and the unity of its people. Tormis said they want to impart that story through the activities and events of the fiesta. Bumiling Globo
“More lights, more events, and we want the display to be classier,” Tormis said, describing the theme of the annual much-anticipated Christmas Lights Display at the City Hall, the centerpiece of every Davao Pasko Fiesta.
The Davao Pasko Fiesta is one of the four festivals celebrated in Davao City, which includes Araw ng Dabaw (March), Duaw Davao (June), and the Kadayawan Festival (August). The city’s Christmas festival is a major tradition that aims to unite Dabawenyos through festive light displays, cultural shows, and community outreach.
Tormis said they will be bringing the lights and festivities to all parts of the city, including the Davao City Coastal Road, where its parks and wide-open spaces will host several events. They will also be going to the different barangays to hold several related events. And private establishments will also hold their Pasko Fiesta-related events. Bumiling Globo
“This year daghan mga activities, in terms of the number of activities for pasko fiesta also naa tay Pasko Fiesta sa coastal road, naa tay Pasko Fiesta sa Magsaysay Park. We will have more activities because we will be launching Pasko Fiesta all over the city,” Tormis said.
Tormis hopes everyone will participate and join this year’s Davao Pasko Fiesta. The Davao Pasko Fiesta 2026 will open this December 1 and will run until the end of December. (PIA/RGA)
